What NAW™ Believes

Your ancestors did not have a diabetes crisis.

They ate from the earth. They moved with purpose. They knew the healing power of bitter leaf, moringa, and baobab long before any laboratory confirmed it.

Somewhere along the way, modern food systems replaced ancestral wisdom — and African bodies paid the price.

At NAW, we believe that healing is a return, not a departure. A return to food your body already recognises. To rhythms your cells already understand. Tradition and science are not opposites — they are partners in your healing.

01
Type 2 diabetes is reversible. It is a metabolic response to a broken food environment — not a life sentence. The right food protocols, rooted in your own cultural heritage, can change what your blood sugar is doing at the cellular level.
02
Your culture is not the obstacle. Ugali, fufu, injera, morogo — these foods are not your enemy. The problem is how they are being prepared and combined in the modern context. We fix that — together.
03
Science honours ancestral wisdom. Moringa, bitter leaf, baobab, and okra are not trends. They are clinically validated tools for metabolic health that your grandmothers have been prescribing for generations.
04
Healing should feel like coming home. Not like punishment. Not like deprivation. At NAW, every protocol is designed to feel culturally familiar, practically achievable, and deeply nourishing.
Who I Help

This space was built for you

If Western medicine has felt like it wasn't designed for your body or your culture — you are right. And this is where that changes.

👩🏾
Newly Diagnosed
On the continent · Just told it's T2D

"My doctor gave me a meal plan full of foods I don't recognise. Ugali is my culture. I don't know where to start without abandoning everything I grew up with."

You need permission — and a clinical guide — to heal through your food, not around it.

👨🏿
Diaspora African
Europe / North America · Prediabetes warning

"I'm disconnected from home foods but Western keto doesn't fit my body or my life. I want to eat African but I don't know what's safe for my blood sugar."

You need a culturally fluent bridge between your homeland foods and the life you're living now.

👩🏾
Prevention-Focused
Family history · Self-educating

"Diabetes runs in my family. Everything I find online is written for white Western bodies. I've been searching for months for something made for me."

You need an authority who finally speaks directly to your body, your blood, and your heritage.

Your Transformation

How your healing unfolds

A clear, clinical, culturally-rooted path — from where you are now to where your body is meant to be.

1

Understand Your Baseline

We start with your HbA1c, fasting glucose, metabolic markers, food history, and cultural context. Your body tells us exactly what it needs.

2

Root the Protocol in Your Culture

Your meal plan is built from your ancestral food traditions — not from a Western template. We use foods your body and your family already recognise.

3

Track, Adjust, Witness Results

Weekly check-ins, blood sugar tracking, and clinical accountability ensure we respond to what your body is doing — not what a generic protocol assumes.

4

Maintain and Thrive

Reversal is the beginning, not the end. The Inner Circle ensures you have clinical support and community for the long-term metabolic health that follows.

Client Results

Real Africans. Real reversals.

These are the outcomes that happen when clinical expertise meets culturally rooted nutrition. Individual results vary — but the science is consistent.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"After three months with Zita, my HbA1c dropped from 9.4 to 6.8. My doctor asked what I was doing. For the first time, my food felt like medicine — and it was all food I grew up with."

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"I live in London and felt completely lost. Keto wasn't for me. NAW gave me protocols using egusi, okra, and bitter leaf — and my fasting glucose normalised in 8 weeks. I cried at my results."

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"My mother and I did the program together in Yaounde. She was on two medications. After 90 days her doctor reduced one and said her numbers were extraordinary. Zita is a gift to our community."

The NAW Approach

Where ancestors and
science become one

Ancestral Wisdom

Your grandmother's kitchen was the first clinic.

African food systems developed over thousands of years in direct response to the African metabolic environment. They were never random — they were intelligent, adaptive, and deeply healing.

  • Bitter leaf — natural blood sugar regulation, documented since antiquity
  • Moringa — clinically studied for insulin sensitivity improvement
  • Baobab — exceptionally low glycemic index, high in soluble fibre
  • Okra — mucilage compounds that slow glucose absorption at the gut level
  • African fermentation traditions — gut microbiome support proven to impact insulin resistance
Evidence-Based Science

We arm tradition with clinical rigour.

Every protocol at NAW is grounded in peer-reviewed nutritional science — glycemic index data, HbA1c research, insulin sensitivity studies, and the emerging body of research on African-specific metabolic patterns.

  • Individual baseline assessment — HbA1c, fasting glucose, metabolic markers
  • Glycemic index and load mapping of African staple foods
  • Evidence-based carbohydrate timing and meal sequencing protocols
  • Continuous glucose monitoring interpretation for clients with CGMs
  • Regular clinical review and protocol adjustment based on your actual results

Meet Your Dietician

I became the guide
that I never had.

My journey began with my own healing. As an African living in the diaspora, I spent years battling type 2 diabetes before becoming a state-registered dietitian and reversing my diagnosis through African ancestral nutrition and intentional lifestyle change. What once began as a personal health struggle became a deeper calling.

I created NAW — Natural Ancestral Wellness — from a place of both lived experience and clinical expertise: a deep belief in the healing power of African food traditions, and the professional training to validate what I knew to be true. This is not a wellness trend. It is a clinical practice rooted in ancestral intelligence, delivering results that are beginning to draw the attention of the wider medical establishment.

Today, I guide others back to hope. Through personalised one-to-one and group coaching, I support clients living with metabolic disease through an approach that is both scientifically grounded and culturally attuned — one that honours their heritage, respects their traditional foods, and embraces their unique metabolic reality.
